Edinburgh's Market Street and North Bridge closed by police due to ongoing incident

Police in Edinburgh have rushed to a hotel on North Bridge amid concerns for a person’s well-being.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 6.20pm on Monday, 13 July, 2020 following the report of a concern for person at a hotel on North Bridge, Edinburgh.

Hide Ad"Emergency services are currently in attendance and both North Bridge and Market Street are currently closed."
Edinburgh resident, Shiv Das, said: “We saw two fire engines and many police officers patrolling North Bridge which was closed off.
"It seemed to be a serious incident,” he added.
Edinburgh Council have warned residents to “please avoid the area if you can”. Waverley Bridge, Canongate and the Mound are also currently closed.
Lothian buses have warned passengers of disruption to their services cause by the incident, indicating that the 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 14, 27, 29, 30, 31, 33, 35, 37, 41, 47, and 49 buses would not travel along their usual routes along the bridge.
