A prisoner has been returned to custody after escaping from guards on the way back from hospital

Steven Ross was being escorted back from hospital to HMP Addiewell when he escaped on March 11.

Police Scotland released CCTV footage of the 33-year-old, who it was thought would head to Glasgow.

A statement from the Police was released today confirming that Ross was ‘traced and arrested on Monday, March 25.’

They added: ‘A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and he is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today (Thursday, March 26).

‘Officers would like to thank all the members of the public who assisted with enquiries.’

Steven Ross was jailed in 2014.
