Fire crews called to Granton Primary after shed fire sends black smoke into sky

Firefighters were called to a blaze this afternoon in the grounds of one of Edinburgh’s primary schools.
A shed at Granton Primary School, in Boswall Parkway, caught fire this afternoon sending thick, billowing smoke into the sky.

Hide AdFirefighters were called at about 1pm today to tackle the flames.
Fortunately the main school building has not been damaged in the incident, and no injuries have been reported.
Fire crews left the scene at about 2pm after the flames were put out.
Footage of the incident, taken by a local resident in the area, shows thick, black smoke rising up into the sky as a fire engine arrives to assist.

Hide AdA spokeswoman for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called out after reports of a shed being on fire that was within the grounds of Granton Primary School.
"The fire has been put out and crews have left the scene."
