Heavy police presence spotted near cordoned off Edinburgh home

A resident in the area said he was unable to access the street due to the amount of police vehicles.

A heavy police presence has been spotted outside a property in a quiet residential street in the west of Edinburgh.

Officers and several police vehicles have been pictured outside a home this morning at about 9am in North Bughtlin Brae, in the Bughtlin area.

The area has been cordoned off and access to the area is restricted.

One local resident told the Edinburgh Evening News "arguing and screaming" had been heard recently.

A passerby said he was unable to access the street in question due to the amount of police cars present.

Police Scotland has been contacted.
