Large multi-agency response following assault in Danderhall

A man was taken to hospital on Sunday evening following an assault in Danderhall which led to a large police presence in the village.

A man was reported to have been spotted walking around the village with an iron bar prior to the incident.

A 35-year-old man was taken to hospital on Sunday from Edmonstone Terrace. His injuries have been described as non-life threatening.

Photos appeared on social media on Sunday night of six police vans and three police cars on the Danderhall street.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers attended an address on Edmonstone Terrace, Danderhall, around 2.40pm on Sunday, May 10, following a report of a disturbance.

“A multi-agency response took place and one man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious but non-life threatening injuries.

“Four men, aged 33, 34, 17, and 17, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. They are expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.

“Further enquiries are ongoing.”
