Thousands of pounds worth of damage has been caused at a golf club in West Lothian.

Officers are appealing to the public for information after receiving reports of extensive damage caused to 14 greens at Linlithgow Golf Club.

The damage is thought to have happened overnight between Tuesday, 16 March and Wednesday, 17 March 2021 at the club on Golf Course Road.

Police Constable Kayleigh Robertson, of West Lothian's Pro-Active Crime Team, said: “Enquiries so far indicate that the extensive damage happened between 5pm on Tuesday 16 March and 7am on Wednesday 17 March.

“The cost to repair this damage is likely to be thousands of pounds and we would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious at the time.

“Anyone with information is asked to call us on 101, quoting incident number 1617 of Friday 26 March, 2021, or call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
