Lothian woman sends out urgent plea to help find her mother's missing dogs

A woman said her mother has been left "devastated" after her two spaniels went missing.

Emma Rafferty, from Gorebridge, was walking in nearby Vogrie Park today when the dogs ran off.

She and her mother, Rita, are currently leading a desperate search for the beloved pets in the park where they went missing.

Ms Rafferty said the pair of spaniels have been a rock to her mother since the recent death of her husband.

"My mum is devastated," Ms Rafferty said.

"She just lost her husband and these two dogs keep her going through the toughest of times.

"They are holding her together.

"Please return them or help us find them."

The two dogs, Mac and Tia, were chasing deer through the park when they went missing this morning at about 11.30am.

One is white with tanned markings and the other black with patches of white fur on its chest and legs.
