Man, 28, arrested following 'police raid' at property in central Edinburgh

A man has been arrested following an incident in the centre of Edinburgh.

Police were called at about 12.30pm today following concerns for a person at a property in Pleasance, near the junction with Gilmour Street.

Officers attended the address and a 28-year-old man was arrested.

One concerned resident told the Evening News the incident looked like a “police raid” and a dog unit and riot officers with shields were in attendance.

A police spokesman said: “We received a report of a concern for a person at a property on Pleasance, Edinburgh, around 12.23pm. Officers attended and a 28-year-old man was arrested. An ambulance also attended as a precaution."
