Man, 29, rushed to hospital after 'serious' early-morning assault in Dalkeith

Police are appealing for information after a 'serious' assault in Dalkeith left a man with injuries to his chest, face, and hand.

The 29-year-old was rushed to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after the incident between 6am and 7am on Sunday February 2 in the Bryans Road area in Newtongrange.

A member of the public stopped to help the man and he was then taken to hospital.

Officers searched the area and are now appealing to the public for witnesses.

Detective Constable Jack Wall of Dalkeith Police Station said: “Our enquiries into the full circumstances of this incident continue and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything, or were aware of any disturbances in the area at the time, to get in touch.”
