Police acted on intelligence by carrying out a search warrant at an address in the north-west of the city in November and a large quantity of the class B drug was recovered.

In a statement released today, police said the total value of the drugs had an approximate street value of more than £30,000.

Following inquiries, a man and woman were traced and charged in connection with the drugs offences and have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Community Inspector Jonny Elliot, from Drylaw Police Station, said: “Intelligence and information received from the public is paramount in combating drug dealing in the city. We will always act upon information we receive from our community and the public have an important part to play in addressing this kind of activity.

“I urge anyone who has any information regarding drug dealing in their community to share this with the police, no matter how insignificant they feel the information may be. What you have seen or heard could be the final piece of the jigsaw we need.
