Man arrested following early morning disturbance in Edinburgh's west end

Police Scotland has arrested a 19-year-old man following a disturbance on the Capital’s Palmerston Place this morning.

The force confirmed reports were received around 5.30am of an incident on the street, involving injury to a man.

A large cordon has since been in place and forensic teams have been seen investigating a car with damage to its windscreen, driver and passenger windows.

A spokeswoman for the force said: “Around 5:30am on Saturday, November 7, police received a report of a man being injured following a disturbance in Palmerston Place, Edinburgh.

"Emergency services attended and a 20-year-old man has been taken to hospital. A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

“Officers are not looking for anyone else."
