Midlothian crimebeat April 19-25
Here is your latest weekly round-up of crime across Midlothian, for April 19-25, as reported by Police Scotland.
On April 19, officers were made aware of an ongoing disturbance within an address in St Andrew Street. On police arrival, two men continued to act in a threatening manner. A 28-year-old man was arrested and conveyed to police custody whereby he was released on an undertaking when sober. A 17-year-old man was issued a recorded police warning for behaving in a threatening manner.
On April 20, officers were made aware of an ongoing disturbance in Woodburn Terrace. Officers attended and traced a 52-year-old woman who was arrested and charged with acting in threatening and abusive manner and possession of an offensive weapon. On April 24, officers attended St Andrew Street in relation to an assault. A 17-year-old man was arrested and conveyed to custody. He was released when sober and issued a recorded police warning.
On April 20, officers attended Willow Road, Mayfield in relation to an ongoing vandalism at a property. After a short foot chase a 28-year-old man was traced. He was charged with vandalism and behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.
On April 25, officers attended Saint Luke’s Path in regards to a man in possession of a machete. After an extensive search of the area and further enquiry, a 38-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of a bladed article. He was kept in custody until sober and released from custody to appear at court at a later date.
On April 22, officers attended the Birkenside area in relation to a disturbance in the street. A 44-year-old woman was issued a recorded police warning in relation to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.
On April 24, officers responded to reports of a man vandalising vehicles in Gore Avenue. A 38-year-old man was traced, arrested and charged with vandalism.
On April 25, officers received reports of a disturbance at Newtonloan Toll. A 20-year-old woman was charged with threatening and abusive behaviour and assault, whilst a 26-year-old man was also charged with behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.
On April 20, officers attended an address in Park Crescent where a 26-year-old male was found within in breach of his bail. He was subsequently arrested and held in police custody to appear at court the next day.
On April 25, police received a report of a possible drink driver on Burnbrae Road. Officers located the vehicle a short distance away. The registered keeper thereafter refused to comply with legal requirements and refused to provide a specimen of breath. The 36-year-old male was arrested and conveyed to police custody whereby he was held until sober and charged with various road traffic offences
On April 19, officers responded to reports of two females behaving suspiciously on Belwood Road. A 19-year-old female was traced after she attempted to evade police. She was found to be in possession of cannabis, which was seized and she was charged in connection with the incident.
