Here is your weekly round-up of crime in Midlothian, for April 26- May 2, as reported by Police Scotland.

DALKEITH:

On Saturday, May 1, officers stopped a 20-year-old man after observing him drink alcohol on the street. When requested to desist, he refused. He was then issued a recorded police warning for drinking in a public place.

On Sunday, May 2, traffic officers stopped a vehicle on the High Street. The 30-year-old male driver failed the roadside drugs test. He was arrested and charged with various road traffic offences. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

GOREBRIDGE:

On Wednesday, April 28, officers attended an address in Birkenside. A 40-year-old woman was found to be in breach of her bail conditions. She was arrested and held to appear in court the next day.

BONNYRIGG:

On Saturday, May 1, a vehicle was stopped by police on Rosewell Road. The 23-year-old male driver was issued a recorded police warning after being found in possession of cannabis.

LOANHEAD:

On Wednesday, April 28, officers on mobile patrol observed a vehicle driving erratically on Straiton Road. The 27-year-old male driver was stopped and failed the roadside breath test. He was subsequently arrested and conveyed to police custody, where he was kept to appear at court the next day.

On Friday, April 30, officers attended reports of a vehicle being vandalised in Dalum Grove. A 15-year-old male was traced and charged in the presence on an adult. A report will be submitted to the Youth Justice Officer.

On Saturday, May 1, officers responded to reports of an on-going fight at licensed premises in the Dryden Terrace area. Officers attended immediately. A 21-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were arrested and charged in connection with the incident, where two police officers were assaulted. They were held in police custody to appear at court the next lawful day.

PENICUIK:

On Thursday, April 29, officers whilst on patrol came across a road traffic collision on Edinburgh Road. An ambulance was also in attendance. The 24-year-old female driver failed the roadside drugs test and was arrested. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
