DALKEITH:

On Monday, June 15, officers received a call regarding a man and a woman who had just been assaulted by two men and a woman after they tried to take their mobile phone. Officers attended and traced the three culprits nearby. A 35 and 27 year old man and a 22 year old woman were arrested and charged with a number of offences. They were held in custody to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

On Wednesday, June 17, officers received a report of a shoplifting at a premises on Newmills Road where the culprit had been detained by staff. On arrival a 54 year old man was identified. He was cautioned and charged with a theft shoplifting and a summons report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Thursday, June 18, officers carried out a search under warrant at an address in Wilson Avenue. During the search a quantity of drugs and money were recovered and the 23 year old man who lived there was arrested and charged with drug offences. An undertaking report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Sunday, June 21, officers were on mobile patrol when they observed a disturbance at Thornybank Square, involving three women. Officers carried out enquiries where it was established that one of the women had been assaulted. A 36 year old woman and a 17 year old woman were arrested for a minor assault and released on an undertaking to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.

NEWTONGRANGE / MAYFIELD:

On Thursday, June 18, officers stopped a 37 year old man on Oak Crescent. A search of the man was carried out where a quantity of controlled drugs was recovered. The recovery led to a further search of two properties linked to the man where evidence of drug supply was recovered. The man was arrested and an undertaking report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

GOREBRIDGE:

On Monday, June 15, officers attended at an address in Castle Avenue in relation to breach of bail conditions which had been reported. The complainer reported receiving messages via social media, contrary to the conditions in place preventing a 32 year old woman from doing so. A breach of bail report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Thursday, June 18, officers observed a blue Nissan Terrano being driven near to Newton Loan Toll. Enquiries revealed that the driver was the subject of a revoked licence and held no valid certificate of insurance or MOT for the vehicle. The vehicle was seized and the 37 year old male driver was arrested and charged with a number of road traffic offences. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Saturday, June 20, police were called in relation to a man who had breached is bail by approaching a woman named in his bail conditions. Officers attended and carried out enquiries confirming the 40 year old man was in breach. He was later traced, arrested and held to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

BONNYRIGG:

On Monday, June 15, officers were called to attend an address in Eskdale Drive, in relation to an intoxicated woman who was shouting, swearing and causing a disturbance. On arrival the 22 year old woman refused to stop and was arrested and charged, and held in custody until sober.

On Friday, June 19, officers observed a man on Polton Street shouting at a group of passing women. Officers attempted to speak with the man who ignored their requests for him to calm down and became verbally abusive towards them. The man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and held in custody until sober. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Saturday, June 20, a call was received by police regarding an intoxicated woman who had entered retail premises at Straiton where she caused a general disturbance and attempted to leave without paying for items. The 32 year old woman who was also found to have an outstanding warrant was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and held to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

PENICUIK:

On Tuesday, June 16, funded Midlothian Community Action Team officers executed a warrant at an address in the Loanburn Avenue area, where a quantity of drugs were recovered from within. A 52 year old man was arrested and charged with various drug offences and a report sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Friday, June 19, officers attended at Lowries Den in relation to reports of an altercation that had taken place as a result of road rage between two men where a knife was produced. A 27 year old man was later arrested and charged in connection with the incident and held in custody to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
