DALKEITH:

On Wednesday, October 28, police were requested to attend Mayfield Road, Dalkeith in relation to an ongoing theft. Police promptly responded and three people were traced. Two women aged 27 and a 31 year old man were charged in connection with the incident and reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Thursday, October 29, police were requested to attend a Road Traffic Collision involving three vehicles on the A68 from Pathhead to the Borders. Following enquiries a driver was charged in connection with the incident.

On Saturday, October 31, police conducting mobile patrols in Eskbank Road, Dalkeith observed a vehicle driving without valid insurance. The vehicle was stopped and police established that the driver was driving outwith their licence. A 27 year old woman and a 32 year old man were subsequently charged in connection with the incident.

On Sunday, November 1, police conducting foot patrols in Woodburn Avenue, Dalkeith stopped a man after noting a smell of cannabis from him. The man was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and found to be in possession of cannabis. He was issued with a Recorded Police Warning.

NEWTONGRANGE / MAYFIELD:

On Monday, October 26, police were requested to attend Main Street, Newtongrange in relation to an erratic driver. A 58 year old man was traced by police and he failed a breath test for alcohol. The man was charged in connection with the incident and a report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Saturday, October 31, police conducting patrols in Wester Suttieslea Terrace, Newtongrange observed a vehicle exit a junction at speed. The vehicle was promptly stopped and cannabis and other items were found within. The 46 year old driver was charged in connection with the incident and a report submitted the Procurator Fiscal.

On Sunday, November 1, police were requested to attend the A7 at Newtongrange in relation to a Road Traffic Collision where a man was believed to be under the influence. Police attended and traced the driver who failed the roadside breath test. The 32 year old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

BONNYRIGG:

On Thursday, October 29, police officers in the vicinity of the High Street, Bonnyrigg observed a vehicle driving without valid insurance. The vehicle was stopped and an 18 year old male driver was charged.

On Saturday, October 31, police on patrol in Bonnyrigg Road, Dalkeith observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner. The vehicle was stopped and officers noted a smell of cannabis emanating from it. The occupants were searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and herbal cannabis was found. A 19 year old woman and a 20 year old man were issued with Recorded Police Warnings.

LOANHEAD:

On Saturday, October 31, police were requested to attend Park Avenue, Loanhead in relation to youths driving a vehicle in an erratic manner. Police attended and traced a 15 year old male youth. He was charged in connection with several RTA offences and a report submitted to the Youth Justice Officer.

PENICUIK:

On Tuesday, October 27, police were requested to attend Biggar Road in relation to a theft of fuel. Officers traced the vehicle and a 21 year old man was charged in connection with the incident. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Thursday, October 29, police conducting vehicle checks on the A701 at Penicuik observed a vehicle with an expired MOT certificate. A 59 year old man and a 35 year old man were subsequently charged in connection with the incident.

On Thursday, October 29, police traced a 49 year old man in Eastfield Drive, Penicuik in possession of a small quantity of heroin. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Friday, October 30, a 20 year old man was found to be in possession of cannabis after being stopped in his vehicle by police carrying out mobile patrols on the A701. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

ROSLIN / ROSEWELL:

On Tuesday, October 27, police were requested to attend Manse Road, Roslin in relation to an unauthorised encampment. A 43 year old woman was traced who was found to be wanted on warrant. She was arrested and charged and will attend at court at a later date.

On Friday, October 30, police attended a Road Traffic Collision on the A6094 Howgate to Rosewell road. A 34 year old female driver was subsequently charged in connection with the incident.

On Friday, October 30, police were requested to attend Wallace Crescent in relation to an intoxicated woman refusing to pay a taxi fare. Police attended and a 38 year old woman was traced and charged. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
