Police dive team search Edinburgh pond as part of 'ongoing investigation'

Searches were taking place in Figgate pond in the Mountcastle area of the city on Wednesday.

Locals also reported seeing what may have been a Police Scotland helicopter hovering above.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Searches have been ongoing in the Portobello area of Edinburgh in connection with an ongoing investigation."We are unable to comment further due to operational reasons, other than to say there is no ongoing incident or wider risk to the public."
