Sergeant Richard Homewood said: "We can confirm that enquiries are ongoing into three reports of break-ins to sheds in the Fraser Gardens and Fraser Crescent areas of Edinburgh, which were reported on Saturday, 18 July.

"We would also urge members of the public to check their own outbuildings and make sure they are secure, especially as the summer months pass and the nights become darker, as this may embolden some potential would-be thieves.

“Residents can find further relevant crime prevention advice on Police Scotland's website and social media channels."

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police on 101, quoting incident 1183 of July 18.
