Police renew Loanhead attack appeal

Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses to an attempted dog-napping incident in Loanhead.

Shortly before 7pm on Monday, January 24, two teenagers tried to steal a Jack Russell dog from a woman out walking in Burndene Drive, Straiton Caravan Park.

In the struggle, the woman was pushed to the ground sustaining injuries to her left ankle, arm and face. She managed to keep hold of her dog and the men ran off.

At Loanhead and District Community Council last week, community beat officer PC Gillian Lumley said DNA analysis was being carried out on the dog’s lead in a bid to trace the attackers.
