Police seize £36,000 worth of drugs in Dalkeith

Police have charged a woman following the discovery of Class A and B drugs in Dalkeith.

CID officers from Gayfield Police Station executed a warrant at a property on Bruce Gardens on Thursday with officers discovering over half a kilogram of cocaine along with diamorphine, cannabis, ecstasy and drug paraphernalia.

It is estimated that the combined street value of the drugs is £36, 000.

A 28-year-old woman was arrested and charged in connection with drug offences and is expected in court today.

Chief Inspector Kenny Simpson, based at Dalkeith, said: “This is a significant quantity of drugs taken off the streets of Dalkeith.

“It goes without saying the harm drugs can cause to a community is devastating, and we would always encourage members of the public to contact us with information on drug crime.”
