In a post on social media, The RNLI posted a picture of them preparing for a call out, saying: “This photo from today was of the boat leaving the station to go to Cramond Island for the 4th time in 4 days.
"Every day since Monday this week we have been called out to rescue those stranded on the island when the causeway was cutoff by the incoming tide.
"And to be honest? We wouldn't change that.

"It's what we do.”
"But its extremely important to look out for your own safety and that of those around you while on or near the coast - including checking forecasted tide times and weather conditions, as well as being dressed for the weather and ensuring you have a reliable way of calling for help if you should
need it.
"We will always help - but by taking these simple steps you can drastically lower your chances of needing help in the first place.
“If you are planning to visit Cramond Island over the next few days please check the safe crossing times.”
A timetable for the crossing can be found here.
