Teenager chased and arrested after being caught riding a stolen bike in East Lothian

The bike was stolen from a shed in the town of Aberlady, in the early hours of the morning on January 27.
The police attended the scene and passed the description of the bike around East Lothian.

Hide AdShortly after, officers saw a 19-year-old male from Edinburgh riding the bike in Seton Sands and gave chase.
The teenager was apprehended and arrested.
The bike has been returned to the owner, and East Lothian police are teaming up with officers from the Capital to identify other possible thefts.
In a statement on social media, Police Scotland said: “We urge that you ensure your sheds, garages and outhouses are kept secure and if you have to store valuable items within them, consider using an alarm.
“A basic shed alarm costs less than £15, can be bought online are are generally easy to install.”
