Two thieves have been caught on camera stealing bikes from outside a property in the Bruntsfield area of Edinburgh.

Footage shows the pair snooping around a bike shed behind a residential building before cycling off on two bikes at speed.

Witnesses to the crime said the intruders were teenagers and spotted them using bolt cutters in the incident which happened at about 9pm last night (Sunday).

It is understood one of the items stolen was a grey Trek bike.

Officers said enquiries are ongoing to try and identify the culprits.

A police spokesman said: “Police were called around 9.40pm on Sunday, 24 May, 2020, following the report of two bikes being stolen from a property in the Bruntsfield area of Edinburgh.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible and anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 3446 of Sunday, 24 May, 2020.
