Woman, 18, racially abused on bus in Edinburgh city centre for 'prolonged period of time'

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old woman was racially abused on a bus in Edinburgh city centre.

The incident happened on a number 26 Lothian bus at about 5pm on Wednesday, January 29th.

Police said the woman was verbally abused by a man for a "prolonged period of time.”

It is not known exactly what was said to the woman at this stage but the abuse was racially motivated.

There were other passengers on the bus who intervened, and officers are keen to speak to anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation.
