Criminals’ cash put to good use

A “MADE from Crime” scheme has been launched by Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill, Solicitor General Lesley Thomson QC, and Lothians Assistant Chief Constable Iain Livingstone.

Joining them at yesterday’s launch was Kate Jackson from Crimestoppers. Police chiefs hope the use of seizures against anyone who benefits financially from illegal activity will add to the funds made available for community projects while “hitting criminals in the pocket”.
