Midlothian residents are being offered cut-price tickets for a beer festival to be held in Loanhead, with early-bird sales ending next week.
The event at Stewart Brewing in Loanhead takes place on April 16 from 3-11pm.
Emily Gray, marketing and communications manager at Stewart Brewing, explained why this event is taking place, and encouraged local people to get involved.
She said: “The main reason is to spread the gospel of great beer to Midlothian. We go to beer festivals all the time. But to have one on our doorstep is fantastic. It would be great for local people to see what we do and that we are doing this on their doorstep.
“We did a festival last August, a food and drink festival. But this is certainly a more traditional beer festival.
“We’ll have a big marquee, music playing. We are going for a bigger event this time. Tickets are on sale online. But we are encouraging people to come and buy them in the shop as there are obviously no booking fees.
“We have got special early bird tickets at £12 until February 29. They are then £15.
“For Midlothian residents though it’s £12.50 after that. “We just want to spread the craft beer cheer really and make sure Midlothian is aware of what we are doing. Not just us, but food and craft in Midlothian too.”
Emily explained more about what is going on at the beer festival: “There will be brand new beers available, and beer collaborations with other brewers. Then we have got live bands playing. We are setting up a stage.
“There will be lots of great local food available too. We have Big Blue Pizza, Fresh Revolution and Jones and Sons coming along. And, with your ticket you get two beer tokens on entry, with an option to buy a special glass.”
