Even for a young and fit athlete, the prospect of walking more than 200 miles across some of Scotland’s most rugged terrain might prove daunting.
Not so, however, for Dalkeith pensioner Malcolm MacGregor (78), who is relishing the challenge of carrying his tent, clothing and equipment all the way from Inverie to Aberdeen to raise cash for the children’s hospice charity, CHAS.
CHAS provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people who have life-shortening conditions for which there is no known cure.
Camping in the wilderness each night, Malcolm’s coast-to-coast adventure will see him take in some of Scotland’s highest mountains, including five Munros.
