Dalkeith superstore faces alcohol ban

The Dalkeith branch of Tesco has had its licence suspended by Midlothian Licensing Board after failing a police-operated test purchase.

The 48-hour booze ban was due to take effect at midnight meaning customers would be unable to buy wines, beers and spirits from 10am this morning (Friday, December 16). However, on Friday afternoon, a spokesman for the supermarket said the suspension had been suspended, so alcohol would be on sale as normal until further notice.
