While he admits filling the shoes of Brian Tannerhill is a big ask, McSence’s new chief executive David Maxwell is looking forward to the challenge.
The 50-year-old, who has been involved with the Mayfield social enterprise for 18 years, said: “McSence is very much associated with Brian and vice versa, so it is a difficult ask.
“Brian has been the person responsible for building this company up from nothing. It is quite a daunting prospect to be coming in, but it is a good time for someone else to come in with new ideas.
“We are very much in a transition period. Having sold Hepburn, we have money to invest, so there’s a lot of things we are looking at.”
