December date for convicted killer David Gilroy’s appeal hearing

A pre-Christmas date has been fixed for an appeal by David Gilroy, the man convicted of murdering Edinburgh book-keeper Suzanne Pilley, and disposing of her body.

The hearing will take place on 20 December at the Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh.

Gilroy, 50, was found guilty of murdering Ms Pilley, 38, his former lover, by unknown means on 4 May, 2010, as she arrived at the office in Edinburgh city centre where they both worked.

It is believed her body has been buried somewhere in Argyll.

Gilroy was jailed for life and ordered to serve at least 18 years before he could apply for parole.
