Gorebridge woman Freda Douglas held her Depressed Cake Shop event on Saturday in memory of her daughter Evie.
She said: “What an amazing day! Thanks to all of our volunteer bakers and helpers, Morrisons and Tescos who donated ingredients, the steady flow of customers who viewed Evie’s artwork, bought cakes and tea and coffee. “Most importantly, thank you to everyone who was willing to discuss mental health issues.
“We raised a tremendous £1258! This will be divided between Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide and The Tartan Explorer Kilimanjaro Treck.
“Together we will challenge the stigma surrounding mental health.”
