Developer builds 70 homes and six units
A DEVELOPER is set to build nearly 70 new homes and six commercial units under plans submitted to council chiefs.
SJ (Edinburgh) Ltd has put forward a planning application to build the 66 homes, which include four affordable properties, on land at Newbattle Road in Newtongrange, Midlothian.
The plans call for a football pitch to be relocated to make way for the development.
The land has been used as the site of a coal yard, garage, steeplejack’s yard, chip shop and football pitch. The proposals are set to be considered by Midlothian Council at a future meeting.
