Police have arrested and charged two men (aged 35 and 41) and a 37-year-old woman following execution of a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at an address in Carlops Avenue, Penicuik.
The warrant was executed on Thursday, October 6. They will all appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Friday, October 7).
Officers seized a quantity of diamorphine and diazepam along with associated paraphernalia. The diamorphine was found to have an estimated value of £1500.
Police Sergeant Douglas Grieve of Midlothian Community Action Team said: “This was a notable recovery, and these drugs have now been taken out of circulation.
“The supply and misuse of drugs devastates lives and has an adverse impact on our whole society.
“The curtailing of this activity is a priority for Police Scotland. I would appeal for anyone with information about drug dealing in their local area to get in touch with us immediately.”
