Drunk mum drove home

A MUM sent home from work for being drunk then drove her car away from the office.

Sheila Fountain had been warned by her boss not to get into her Nissan Micra after he saw her holding the keys.

He carried out his threat to call police when she ignored him, Livingston Sheriff Court was told yesterday. Police arrived at the 44-year-old’s home in Livingston shortly afterwards and found her under the influence of alcohol.

When Fountain was breathalysed, her reading was 70 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath – twice the 35mg legal limit.

She appeared for sentence after earlier pleading guilty to drink-driving on March 2 and was ordered to carry out 135 hours of unpaid work. Sheriff Martin Edington also banned her from driving for 43 months.
