Early Xmas sales frenzy
STORES were slashing prices early today as retailers cash-in on last-minute Christmas shoppers.
Almost all major stores have been holding pre-Christmas sales, with goods at half price.
It comes amid reports of a disappointing festive season on the high street although John Lewis in Edinburgh said that the store had experienced two record weeks at the beginning of the month, with an 11 per cent increase in sales. It predicted that the final weekend would be even better.
