Road surface improvement work will be taking place on the A702 Easter Howgate over the Easter weekend.
The work, which will take place between 6am on Saturday, March 26 until 6.30am on Monday, March 28, requires a full carriageway closure of the northbound and southbound carriageway. A signed diversion route will be put in place.
Southbound traffic will be diverted onto the A703 at Damhead and on to the A701 Penicuik, and from there will join the A766 north of Nine Mile Burn before returning to the A702. Northbound traffic will follow the same diversion in reverse.
This scheme has been planned in consultation with Police Scotland and Midlothian Council.
These works, with a value of £170,000, will ensure the continued safety and reliability of Scotland’s vital trunk road network.
