Edinburgh Airport safety chief flies to Singapore

ONE of Edinburgh Airport’s leading safety chiefs is flying to Singapore this month to audit the fire officer course used by one of the world’s largest transport hubs.

Head of airside operations Colin Murray, who is in charge of the airport’s fire training centre, is due to leave on
Friday.

The week-long audit will guarantee the course at Singapore’s Changi airport for employees in charge of airport accidents meets strict international aviation standards.

It is a significant honour for Mr Murray, who has almost 18 years’ experience in the field, and a mark of approval for the Capital’s operations.

Mr Murray said. “I’ve been asked to identify whether the course needs to be improved or whether it’s doing what it says on the tin. I would always say we’re the best in Edinburgh.”
