Edinburgh issued yellow weather warnings as Capital set for rainy and windy weekend

Two yellow weather warnings have been issued for Edinburgh as the Capital braces for a rainy and windy few days.

The city and West Lothian will be covered by a rain warning between 2am and 9am tomorrow. It means there will be a risk of flooding and travel disruption in affected areas.

As Storm Kathleen strikes on Saturday, a wind warning will be in force in Edinburgh and all of the Lothians save for some of the most eastern parts. Between 8am and 10pm, transport could be affected and power cuts may be experienced.

Some coastal areas could also become dangerous because of large waves and beach material landing on sea fronts, roads and properties.

Yesterday, the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) issued a flood alert for the city and the Lothians amid a recent spell of miserable weather.
