Edinburgh road taped off after crash between motorbike and police car

Emergency services have rushed to Marionville Road in Edinburgh following a collision between police vehicle and motorbike amid an ongoing incident.

Police Scotland have confirmed they are on the scene as a man has been taken to a nearby hospital.

The collision took place on Marionville Road, near the fire station, earlier this afternoon.

The extent of the man's injuries are not known at this time.

A Police statement read: "Police and emergency services are in attendance at Marionville Road in Edinburgh following a collision between a police vehicle and a motorbike.

"A man has been taken to hospital. Officers remain at the scene."
