Staff and students at Jewel and Esk have been reassured plans to create a “super college” by merging with Stevenson will not not see courses axed.
The two institutions have agreed in principle to the move, which would create one college with around 20,000 students and 1000 staff, contributing more than £1million to the economy.
The new college would be the second largest in Scotland and in the top 20 in the UK based on turnover.
A consultation on the plans is due to begin in June.
