Eyewitnesses reported ‘around 12’ emergency service vehicles.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called to assist our emergency service partners at 2:07pm on Sunday January 17 to Salisbury Crag, Arthur’s Seat, Edinburgh.

“Operations Control mobilised four appliances and one height rescue vehicle to the scene.

“Firefighters assisted a person in difficulty and handed her into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service who took her to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”
