With the new Bilston Primary school open for business, the local community was not too sad to see the old annexe building gone.
Head teacher Sheryl Wallace said: “The annexe has served Roslin Primary well. Bilston now has its very own school and this annexe site, once cleared, will be home to a new sports pitch to be used by local people all year round.
“I’m aware of a lot of nostalgia and, perhaps, some sadness. However, we will ensure the memories are carried forward with us in the spirit of the new school.”
The £6.6 million school was designed by award-winning AHR Architects while McLaughlin & Harvey Construction Ltd did the building work following public consultation.
