An award-winning Loanhead firm is one of the first companies in Scotland to become 100 per cent landfill free.

Haggis manufacturer Macsween is using pioneering technologies to convert waste into sustainable energy.

Over the past 10 years the firm has worked hard to reduced its waste and joined forces with the William Tracey Group, which creates Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF)by shredding and dehydrating solid waste.

James Macsween, who spearheads the firm’s environmental management programme, said: “We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and working in partnership with The William Tracey group to become a zero waste business is a fantastic milestone for Macsween.”
