Rare bloodmoth spotted in Holyrood Park is first seen in Scotland for 15 years

A striking moth with a blood-like streak across its wings has been recorded in Scotland for the first time in 15 years.The Blood-vein moth was spotted during insect monitoring in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh, last summer.The easily recognisable insect has only been recorded 14 times in Scotland, the last being in 2004. It is the first time it has ever been recorded in the capital.
