Exhibition for Italian master

AN Italian master of landscape painting is finally receiving public recognition with the first exhibition devoted to his works now on view in Edinburgh after 200 years.

The Scottish National Gallery’s major summer exhibition Expanding Horizons, featuring the work of Giovanni Battista Lusieri, runs through the summer until October 28.

Exhibition curator Aidan Weston-Lewis said that the “long forgotten artistic genius” Lusieri was highly unusual among Italian artists for preferring watercolours.
