Festival for pipe band to mark 30th

HADDINGTON Pipe Band have organised a music festival which will feature a range of concerts next month.

Trad on the Tyne takes place from September 16-18 and also features come-and-try sessions, an open-mic afternoon, workshops, late-night sessions, a silent disco, country dancing, storytelling, pony rides and face painting.

The main venue will be a marquee at the Haugh next to the Waterloo Bridge.

Band chairman John McMillan said: “Frankly, we could not have dreamed of putting together this weekend of events without the amazing support we have had from local and other businesses.

“The band has always seen itself as a community band.

“We are very, very grateful, and are determined to put on a great event to repay them and to celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary.”
