Festive lights to be switched on in Dalkeith

The festive lights will be switched on in Dalkeith on Saturday with an afternoon's entertainment taking place to suit all ages.

Musical entertainment at last year's Christmas festivities in Dalkeith

There will be children’s rides and stalls in Komarom Court from 1pm-5pm.

In Dalkeith Arts Centre, from 2pm-4pm, there will be a Christmas fair sponsored by the Bill Russell Woodburn Youth Project. The Black Diamond roadshow will take place from 2pm-5pm, and there will be further entertainment at the Damo and Marvo Magic Show from 3.15pm-4.15pm. Tickets for this can be bought at Dalkeith Library.

Pupils from Woodburn Primary, Dalkeith High and St David’s High will be carol singing in St Nicholas Buccleuch Church, High Street, Dalkeith, from 3pm-4.15pm. There will also be music from St David’s Brass Band and St David’s High School Ukelele Band.

At 4.15pm, there will be a procession from St Nicholas Bucchleuch to Komarom Court for more carols.

The lights will be switched on at 4.30pm by Santa and Woodburn Primary pupils Kayla Johnson and Joshua Newton.
