Final push needed for Dalkeith tot’s op fund

A tot who needs life-changing surgery in the US to be able to walk is only £5000 off his funding target.

Four-year-old Jay Johnson, from Dalkeith, has cerebral palsy, which leaves him wheelchair-bound.

His parents, Sandra and Paul, desperately want to give him every chance in life, and earlier this year, they launched a £40,000 funding drive to secure an intricate spinal procedure.

The flights are booked and accommodation sorted, but if the remaining sum cannot be sourced before September 8, the operation will have to be cancelled.
