A MAYFIELD man overseeing reform of Scotland’s fire services will retire next month.
Jimmy Campbell, Chief Fire Officer of Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service, is preparing to stand down after 36 years’ service.
His decision was announced recently to the Fire and Rescue Board.
The 56-year-old believes that the merger of Scotland’s eight fire and rescue service will create a better service for the public.
