Fishing areas’ funds boost

COASTAL communities in the Lothians have been buoyed after securing a European cash pot designed to boost fishing produce and enhance tourism amid declining fortunes for the county’s fishing fleet.

A total of £171,227 will be invested in areas like Cockenzie, Port Seton, Dunbar and North Berwick after receiving cash from the European Fisheries Fund. East Lothian Council, which will manage the allocation of the grant, contributed half the sum.
