Five star service from celebrities

Stars at Your Service, Friday, October 3, Channel 4, 8pm

What’s It All About? The Stand Up to Cancer campaign has already given us one of the most memorable advertising campaigns of the year so far with its two-minute “It’s Payback Time” animation, and it also has everyone from Alan Carr and Davina McCall to the cast of Hollyoaks signed up to help out. Plus, of course, it’s dedicated to eradicating one of the most feared diseases in the world. As far as we’re concerned, it can do no wrong.

Now, though, it’s got even better - by enlisting a whole host of famous faces to help out regular people in their day-to-day lives. So if you ever fancied getting a pop singer to clean your drains or a reality TV star to set you up on a blind date, then now’s your chance.

This week’s opener features Russell Kane helping cancer patient Jayne to complete her wish list, Union J becoming dinner ladies at a primary school, and Ollie Locke undertaking an assault course.

Also rumoured to be popping up later on in the series are Melanie C, Phil Spencer, Jamie Laing, Rachel Riley and Johnny Vegas - and that’s just for starters. At time of writing new stars are getting involved all the time, and viewers who would like to enlist them can make a request online.
